Makeup Trial

So I had an appointment this morning with the ladies at Bobbi Brown for a makeup trial for wedding day stuff, and here are some pictures!

Cardbox!

So I got the original idea from Heather over at her Road to the Aisle blog, and then my Dad and I changed it up a bit. Here is the box we put together for any cards at Rick and my wedding. It doesn't have the real pictures that will be in it just yet, but that's because I'm waiting on the package from Kathy. It's still close enough you can get the general idea.

Love Languages

So I shamelessly borrowed this from another blogger (Headed for Happily Ever After), but it is still a good idea to figure out what your "love language" might be. It is a little quiz based on the book the 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman. Here's the link to the quiz: http://www.greaterquest.com/LoveLanguages.asp

My love language is Quality Time followed by Affirmation.

So excited!

I will have to follow this up later with a post detailing my recent projects. I went to Michael's the other day and found a fantastic deal on program materials! I will also post a picture of the cardbox my dad and I put together based on instructions by Heather who can now be found here. Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

April 21st...an important day for two reasons

For Texas Aggies, wherever you may be, you are asked to gather together and "Muster" in remembrance of those no longer with us. When each person's name is called on the Roll, those present call "Here". Personally, it is one of my favorite traditions on campus, as it shows just how much of a family the Aggie Network really is.
"We gather today, Aggies all, to recall our past, to strengthen our ties, to honor those who have passed before us....We come today to affirm our commitment, our love for this place and all that it represents."
Jack M. Rains, Muster Speaker 1984- www.muster.tamu.edu
A second reason to celebrate this day is part of Texas History. San Jacinto Day in 1836, was the day that Sam Houston was able to defeat the Mexican General Santa Anna. This defeat began the period of the Republic of Texas until 1845.

Wedding

We went to a wedding on Saturday night that was really beautiful. I think my favorite part was that the bride's father was also the presider at the wedding. At the last moment he pulled out a digital camera to snap a picture of the couple as they exchanged vows/ rings! I have to confess that I could also be a little partial as the colors were part of my sorority chapter's.

Welcome to my blog

So we received the slideshow as part of a photography session for our engagement from Kathy Weigand. Now I've apparently joined the masses as a blogger of parts of my life. I'm not quite sure where this will take me, so we'll find out. I'm thinking it will include everything from working on items and DIY-stuff for our wedding, to cooking, travel, and any random activities. Enjoy!
