Want some free money?

I'm serious. Would you like some? I found out about it the other day. See, all you have to do is sign up to take a few pilot tests for educator preparation programs. This is really geared for educators, or those getting their masters, or beginning certification. However, if you're interested  go to the site and sign-up! I took one this afternoon, and am signed up for four more.

At the pilot test you will be able to select from the following incentives:

$600 in electronic Penguin gift codes (up to 8 tests for $75 each)
$360 in Barnes and Noble electronic gift codes (up to 8 tests for $45 each)
$320 (up to 8 tests for $40 each)

Peaked your interest? Go here:
http://www.pearsonvue.com/nes and you have until the middle of April to take the exams.

Olympics

As this weekend means the Opening Ceremonies of the 21st Winter Olympics, I thought I'd share an article I saw on Yahoo today. The story includes an introduction to Ghana's and Peru's first-ever Winter Olympians, among other stories.
Have fun! While I'm inside trying not to die of cabin fever based on the blizzard going on outside our door. . .

Off to go running for a bit

Racing Time

Ah! I'm so excited! I finally sat down and looked up different runs to space out over the year. They lead up to my ultimate goal of running a half-marathon by the end of 2010. Here's my calendar, so far:

March 21, 2010: Dancel Family Center Y 5K

April 25, 2010: Port to Fort 6K
(I'm raising money to help a children's charity. If you'd like to help by donating,
please email me or leave a comment, thanks!)

May 16, 2010: Capitol Hill Classic 10K (Raises money for a public elementary school in D.C.)

June 12, 2010: Marine Crossroads 17.75K (The race is named and spaced out for the year the USMC was founded)

August 8, 2010: Bunker Hill Trail Run (11 miles)

September 19, 2010: Philly Rock N Roll Half-Marathon! (So excited about this one!)

October 2, 2010: Freedom’s Run 10k

Keep watching the blog for updates on my training and running. These runs are in addition to the four weddings I will be attending/ a part of this year, as well as my sorority's convention in Orlando in June! I'm so excited and pumped for the rest of 2010!
In other news, we're getting buried in snow....again....

Horrible Blogger

So I know I said I would be keeping this up at least once a day this whole year, but as you can see life became fast and furious for a little bit. I'll do better to finish up some pre-planned posts and return to regularly scheduled blogging this week.

Why?

Because of the snowstorm/ blizzard that dumped over 2 feet of snow on our city and surrounding area. Pictures to come.

Watch the Super Bowl last night? Yay for the Saints win! I personally thought that the Doritos commercials and some of the others were hilarious. I really enjoyed The Who's haftime show- fantastic job! We were planning on having a party, but due to the snowstorm it was cancelled.

Yahoo just made my menu planning for the week very simple: 7 Simple Recipes

Have a great Monday!
