Thats what the greeting on The Knot was to me this morning! Now I just have to finish these invitations before tomorrow in between packing up my place and for this weekend's festivities at a friend's wedding, and going to work.

My Obsession with Books
I love books. Always have and most likely always will, at least for as long as my eyes are able to read them.
My really good first memories of books are sitting in kindergarten in the "Blue Bird" reading group, and yet still being bored with some of my other classmates as I seemed to be able to read the sentence a little faster than some of them could (The cat ran to the pan, etc.). Then fast forward to the summer after first grade and my dad was taking summer school after his first year of law school. He says he was taking Oil and Gas Law, or something like that. Anyway, there was this awesome bookstore called Ballinger's Books right down the street from our house in OKC that had every Nancy Drew book on the shelves. The first week I read a Nancy Drew book a day. We would go there for a lunch break (study break for my dad) and I would pick one out. The next day, same trip to the store and I would be ready for another selection. Sadly, the store is no longer there, it's now a Relax the Back store or something like that.
Now that I'm older, I still sometimes find myself in the kids section of bookstores and libraries, either for an easy and fun read, or for reminiscing purposes. This brings me to my errand today. I love Barnes and Noble stores, Borders, libraries, you name it. Just ask my friends who enjoy going with me, and even ask the ones who I drag in there. I can literally stay for hours at a time and most of the time not even realize the time gone by! Anyway, I got a coupon in the mail from Barnes and Noble and decided to go use it today. While I was searching for the book I went to buy, I found these selections that are now on my reading list (along with my project I mentioned the other day):
Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay
Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
The Turtle Catcher by Nicole Helget

This list, is of course, on top of the reading I will have starting next week for my Masters degree classes.
I'm also in the midst of scheduling my bridal pictures and hair trial. I'm trying to have them done around the weekend of my bachelorette party, but we shall see!

Memorial Day
Happy Memorial Day! I would like to thank all the members of the Armed Forces and their families for their service and sacrifice to our country. Without them, we would not be able to enjoy all the freedom we have in this country.

Grant presided over the first observance of Memorial Day at Arlington National Cemetery where over 20,000 Union dead and several hundred Confederate dead had been laid to rest."

In other news, it's a beautiful day today!! I worked this morning, which was really busy with all the customers who were OFF work today. Then I spent a glorious 1.45 hours at the pool reading my book, Mrs. Lincoln: A Life by Catherine Clinton. It's a really interesting look into the life of a woman who has been pretty much blasted by the press for so many years.
This book is part of a project I have for myself that started last year when I read the biography of Martha Washington. That was another fascinating look into an amazing woman's life, as well as into the background of her husband's life and presidency.
Anyway, my project is to read every single biography of the First Ladies that I can get my hands on. I did it once when I was in elementary school, but now I want to go back and read the adult versions. I am also pretty picky about my choices to read, so it's been interesting going to the libraries to find what I'm looking for.

Wants
Ok, so this may seem ridiculous, but I saw this earlier on a scuba diving shop website in Baltimore, and would love to be able to just go pick one up . . . the whole Mares Ladies Package that is pictured, that is. This group of items is basically amazing, and is now on my wish list...at the very bottom of a long list.
Oh, and one of my cousins graduated from high school today, and I will post pictures and a longer story on that tomorrow!

Pooltime!
So here's a photo of how incredibly awesome it is to go to the pool at my apartment complex.
The office opened the pool today for the summer, and it was amazing! It was a pretty hard and hot day at work, (I currently work at a job that is totally outside) so I was incredibly excited to go to the pool after I got off work! I had my library book; currently reading a biography of Mary Lincoln, and took a couple laps around the pool, then settled in a chair to read. Then come the teenagers. Specifically, two teenage boys who proceed to have a cannonball contest. Right. Next. To. My. Chair.
I think I laughed the hardest I have laughed today when the two office staff ladies walked in to the pool area and inquired about everyone having the above-pictured pool passes. A) The teenagers were forced out for being in the pool without an adult (or someone over 18 sponsoring them) and none of them had a pool pass. It completely cleared out the pool, as none of them had either. It was bliss and quiet for a good 15 minutes!
I love summertime!! Reminds me that I should find out if our new apartment will have a pool?

Dresses are ordered!
YAY! The bridesmaid dress order is now turned in! I am beyond excited to be able to check this off the to-do list! We chose to have three different styles for the ladies depending on their own preference. The first dress is an off the shoulder dress which will be worn by two of the ladies.
The second dress will also be floor-length in real life and will be cayman blue along with the other dresses.
The third dress is a halter style, that I believe is what my cousins will be wearing.
Now we just get to wait until August for the dresses to arrive back in the store, so I can drive and pick them up! All the dresses are from the Jasmine Bridal B2 Line which can be found here.

First Dress Fitting
So excited! I feel quite accomplished today, and it is only 3:30pm. I am getting closer to the halfway point of making the invitations and should have them all printed by Friday. I will post pictures at a later date.
This afternoon I drove to the alteration shop for my first dress fitting! Learned I did not actually have to buy the crinoline, so if anyone is interested, let me know? It's never been worn, I just made the mistake of taking it out of the bag it came in.

Morning Wake-up Call
Have you ever woken up and realized its going to be one of THOSE days? That was me this morning. Specifically at 3:43 AM. The apartment maintenance man was knocking on my front door. My water heater had a leak that had started going down into the first-floor apartment. The entire floor of my storage closet was soaking wet. Luckily, I think I have managed to save most of the items and boxes that were touching the floor, except for one gift bag. Now I'm waiting for the carpet people to come dry out the carpet.

Ahh, wedding season
How I love thee. My friends, the pretty dresses, the food, and the cake! So far our list of weddings this year, not including our own, is up to 8! I'm beyond excited for all our friends and cannot wait to celebrate with all of them. My favorite part of going to the weddings now is seeing everyone's different styles and personalities coming out in the decor that surrounds the guests. Here's a peek at the next bride to be and the guests at her bachelorette party last weekend.
