So my dad's fiance's little girl came back today for a visit (she's spending a month with her dad). Dad's Fiance wanted to make her a "welcome back" cake, and I volunteered. I haven't made a cake like this since last summer when I made one for a friend's bachelorette party. This time I used a cake dome I was given as an engagement gift from a friend.
Ever seen one of these? It's a
Dormeyer from
1946. It was my grandmother's first mixer, and it still works! The website is just a better picture reference, I'm not actually selling mine.
The cake dome turns into four different uses: punch bowl, dip and veggie plate, and just a display stand as well as the cake dome.
